So, don’t go anywhere... we’ve compared deals from all the top networks to find out who the 3 cheapest broadband providers who in 2021.

Switchly’s winner: Shell Broadband

If you’re looking for cheap and cheerful, Shell never disappoints. Their monthly rates are some of the cheapest on the market and regularly have deals to cut the cost even further.

Right now, they’re currently offering 10Mbps standard broadband for an unbeatable £16.99 a month. This seems too good to be true right? Well don’t worry, Shell don’t have any hidden fees.

All of Shell’s cheap broadband deals included unlimited downloads, a free Wi-Fi router, free line rental and no activation charges (unless they need to install a new line). But that’s not all... Shell promises its customers that they won’t get slapped with end-of-contract price rises, so you can always be sure you’re on a competitive rate.

Runner up: NOW Broadband

NOW Broadband comes in at a very close second place. While NOW’s 11Mbps standard broadband is slightly more expensive than Shell’s offer, NOW’s fibre deals are actually cheaper.

You can get 36Mbps speeds for £23 a month or 63Mbps speeds for just £25 a month! These are some of the best rates out there for fibre broadband. Plus, all of NOW’s broadband deals come with unlimited downloads, line rental, no activation fee and anytime calls for the first 12 months – increasing the value of their broadband deals.

What is also great about NOW is their no-contract option, which not many other UK broadband providers offer! This means you can cancel your service and switch to another network at any time, without being penalised. However, the no-contract option does come with quite a hefty activation fee of £60.

Runner up: Plusnet

Plusnet is also worthy of a spot on our cheapest broadband provider list. They were also one of the big winners at this year’s Uswitch Awards – taking home Broadband Provider of the Year, Best Value Broadband Provider and Most Popular Broadband Provider for 2021.

In terms of price, Plusnet is very reasonable and similar to Shell’s monthly rates. Their Unlimited Broadband deal (10Mbps average speeds) is £18.99 a month; their Unlimited Fibre (36Mbps average speeds) is £22.99 a month; and their Unlimited Fibre Extra (66Mbps is £25.99 a month. Just be aware that these prices are for the 18-month contract option and prices for the 12-month contract are quite a bit higher.

With Plusnet, you can rest assured that you’re not only getting a great price, but a great service. Their service satisfaction rate was higher than average, beating other top networks such as Virgin, EE, Sky and BT.
